Rickety Bridge Winery

Rickety Bridge is nestled against the slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains overlooking the majestic Wemmershoek mountain range.

Step into a piece of Wineland’s history upon your Cape Town Helicopters flight arrival at Rickety Bridge Winery the land dates back to 1694 when Rickety Bridge was originally part of La Provence, one of the first seven French Huguenot farms in Franschhoek. Today the property is home to a modern winery, a bistro-style restaurant, and more.

The Wine Tasting Centre is adjacent to the wine cellar, offering a glimpse into the inner workings of a working winery. Taste Rickety Bridge wines on the terraces, surrounded by vines, or gather around the wood-burning fireplace on colder days to soak up the warmth while enjoying Rickety Bridge’s fine wines. The friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the various Tasting Centre offerings.

Take a seat on the terrace with magnificent vineyard and mountain views or cosy up in front of the fireplace in the colder months and enjoy one of the varieties of elegant bistro-style dishes while sipping on the award-winning Rickety Bridge wines to compliment your lunch – the perfect ending to your day.

The Winelands, Cape Town Helicopters flight package

The Rickety Bridge Winery, Cape Town Helicopters flight package includes a private helicopter flight to and from Rickety Bridge and a half-day experience at the winery to enjoy wine tasting and or pairing, shopping, and lunch (for your own account).

Helicopter Flight Time:

V&A Waterfront to Rickety Bridge Winery (+25 minutes)
Rickety Bridge Winery back to V&A Waterfront (+25 minutes)

Ground Time: Spend approximately 2,5 to 3 hours at Rickety Bridge Winery
Total Winelands Flight Experience: 3-4 hours in total

 

* Cape Town Helicopters reserves the right to bring the helicopter back to base if operationally required and we will then perform the collection from Rickety Bridge Winery at an appointed time.


Where we will meet

The iconic V&A Waterfront that lies at the heart of Cape Town’s history where the city meets the sea. Here you will join Cape Town Helicopters for your magical experience. Located on 220 East Pier Road, Breakwaters Edge, V&A Helipad, V&A Waterfront, 8001.


Keep these in mind

Check In Time

Please check in 20-30 minutes prior to your scheduled Take Off time. This will allow enough time for us to take weights, conduct a safety briefing and issue tickets. After this has been conducted you can relax on the viewing deck and take some great pre-flight pictures and enjoy the atmosphere.


Seating

Please be aware that seating allocation on all our sharing flights are done according to weight and balance which is done during your safety briefing and ticketing. Should you want to choose your own seats you can book an Exclusive Flight at the cost of one additional seat and you are guaranteed the ‘best seats in the house.

Best Pictures

For the best pictures we recommend that you wear darker coloured clothing as whites reflect off the inside of the windows and can spoil that epic shot. We do offer In Flight Video packages where we record you and your flight, including audio, and put it on a USB for you. Note that not all aircraft has this system available so please requests this on check in.


Weather

All flights are weather dependent. Should the conditions not be ideal for flying we will try to reschedule to the next best available flight window. Note that the temperature in the sky is exactly the same as on the ground in case you are wondering what to wear.
